Notes about the AU.
Dec. 15th, 2013 01:50 pmTokyo Millennium is a Shin Megami Tensei II and Axis Powers Hetalia crossover AU, so I'll be dividing this into things to know for each fandom!
People who already know Hetalia:
In the 1990s, demons began to appear around the world from an unknown source, causing large amounts of casualties everywhere. A demon posing as an American ambassador launched nuclear missiles at Japan, causing a global nuclear war.
In the 2030s, a gigantic flood destroyed most of Tokyo and Japan, caused by an enormous tectonic plate movement, or God depending on what you believe.
The 2040s mark when what was left of the government became a theocracy run by Messians.
The 2050s are when Japan would have officially changed his name to Tokyo Millenium.
By the 2060s, most of the world outside of the rebuilt Tokyo is uninhabitable due to global warming, nuclear radiation, and the deterioration of the ozone layer. By this point Tokyo Millennium has completely lost contact with all other nations, and assumes them either dead or dying.
This journal is slightly pre-SMT2, and takes place in the early 2070s.
People who already know SMT:
Countries are represented by people, and always have been back to ancient days. They feel what happens to their country, they take orders from their heads of government, and their personalities reflect their citizens as well as their governments.
As you might have guessed, Tokyo Millennium is slightly crazy.
General personality notes:
Tokyo Millennium looks like a Japan dressed in white and blue. He is not much like Japan other than that.
Most nations try to do right by their citizens, at least in theory. Tokyo Millennium has long since stopped caring about the individual and only cares that peace persists. Peace above everything, even freedom. Especially freedom.
Tokyo Millennium has been brainwashing his citizens to do endless work, killing his citizens for entertainment, and punishing his citizens harshly for stepping one bit out of line. He doesn't see anything wrong with this - it's what his bosses want, there's no other country around to snap him out of it, and there's no reason he can't get away with it. He has to do these things to keep the Millennium smoothly running, and nothing is as important as that.
In personal conversations, when he has personal conversations, he still is polite, but with that distinct creepy edge of someone who would not hesitate to kill you if he thought there was a good reason.
